Barrister Ahmad Shahmir
Barrister Ahmad Shahmir is a distinguished legal practitioner known for his academic excellence, courtroom expertise, and strategic advisory capabilities. He was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn following his LL.B (Hons.) from the University of London and holds an LL.M (Distinction) from Nottingham Trent University, UK. He further holds a Diploma in Taxation Law from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
With over eight years of active legal practice, Mr. Shahmir has developed a strong reputation in criminal law, civil and commercial litigation, banking disputes, constitutional petitions, and service matters. He has consistently obtained favorable outcomes for clients before trial courts, High Courts, and administrative tribunals, in cases involving criminal defence, financial recovery, employment disputes, and constitutional enforcement.
He has previously served at the Law Directorate, General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, where he worked on complex legal matters concerning the Pakistan Armed Forces. This experience significantly broadened his perspective on public law, military justice systems, and institutional litigation.
Mr. Shahmir also worked with GroupM Pakistan, a leading global media agency, where he gained practical exposure to contract negotiation, compliance, and corporate legal affairs—further enriching his multidisciplinary legal acumen.
He is the founding head of Ahmad Shahmir & Co., a boutique law firm providing expert legal representation tailored to individual and institutional needs. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Shahmir is a respected academic and currently serves as a Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at SZABIST University, where he has been teaching for over three years. As Head of the University’s Legal Aid Centre, he leads pro bono initiatives that provide underserved communities with access to justice and legal awareness.
